Railway Motion Control Unit for Train Monitoring and Navigation Safety
General Guidance supplies the Inertial Labs Railway Motion Control Unit (RMCU), a high-performance strapdown system developed for accurate motion measurement and orientation on railway platforms. Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions company, designed the RMCU to provide heading, pitch, roll, angular-rate and linear-acceleration data in static and dynamic operating conditions.
The compact RMCU combines three-axis MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes with miniature fluxgate magnetometers and advanced Kalman-filter sensor fusion. User-selectable output rates up to 2,000 Hz, full temperature calibration, IP67 protection and RS-485 or Ethernet interfaces enable dependable integration into railway monitoring, motion-control and safety systems.
The Railway Motion Control Unit supports train motion control, primary attitude reference, railway monitoring, crack detection and navigation safety. Its onboard inertial and magnetic sensors provide continuous attitude and motion data for integration into railway monitoring and control systems. Compliance with EN 45545, EN 50155 and EN 55011 supports demanding railway deployments. General Guidance helps customers select the appropriate configuration and coordinate technical integration.

RMCU
High-performance railway motion control unit providing accurate heading, pitch, roll, angular-rate and linear-acceleration data for static and dynamic rail applications. Combining precision MEMS sensors, miniature fluxgate magnetometers and advanced Kalman-filter sensor fusion, RMCU delivers 0.3° static heading accuracy, 0.05° static pitch and roll accuracy and output rates up to 2,000 Hz. Its compact IP67 enclosure supports train motion control, railway monitoring, crack detection and navigation safety.
